Christmas comparison project

The Brief

Working with Manchester BID and Manchester City Council, our brief was to create a destination re-orientation plan for the city’s Christmas programme. Combining an analysis of ‘what works?’ in a number of prominent European cities with Manchester’s unique cultural heritage and creative innovation, it led to the development of a city-wide winter programme.

My Role

Initially, our role focused on the 30 public and private sector stakeholders responsible for Manchester’s Christmas and winter programme and capturing their thoughts and observations. We then travelled to a number of cities including Munich, Copenhagen, London, Edinburgh and Zü-rich, preparing a report on each city’s festive offer and its merits. The presentation was delivered to key councillors and the project team, creating an authentic strategy and detailed action plan for future events over the next three to five years orientated around celebrating the city’s key assets as a European leader and generating best return on investment for the winter months.
